Samsung unveiled its vision for “AI Living” at The First Look event during CES 2026 on January 5, showcasing an ecosystem of AI-powered devices spanning TVs, home appliances, and health-tracking wearables. The announcement centered on three AI companion pillars: entertainment, home management, and proactive healthcare, all connected through the SmartThings platform, which now serves over 430 million users globally.

130-Inch Micro RGB TV Leads Display Lineup

Samsung introduced the 130-inch Micro RGB TV, marking its largest consumer display with a micro-sized RGB light source where each microscopic red, green, and blue diode shines independently. The Micro RGB AI Engine Pro enables precise control of RGB colors for vivid picture quality in every scene.

The entire 2026 TV lineup—spanning Micro LED, Micro RGB, OLED, Neo QLED, Mini LED, and UHD models—integrates Vision AI Companion (VAC), a conversational AI platform that extends beyond basic viewing. VAC lets users ask for content recommendations, recipes based on what they see on-screen, and music suggestions through natural voice commands. Select models include AI Soccer Mode Pro with AI Sound Controller Pro, allowing viewers to adjust crowd noise, commentary, or music volume independently.

Samsung’s 2026 TVs support HDR10+ ADVANCED with genre-based optimization and improved gaming features, plus Eclipsa Audio spatial sound across all models. The company also guarantees seven years of Tizen OS upgrades for future-proofing.

Family Hub Gets Google Gemini-Powered AI Vision

The Family Hub refrigerator now features AI Vision built with Google Gemini, enabling the fridge to recognize and track food items placed inside or removed, automatically updating inventory. Unlike previous versions, AI Vision can identify a wider range of items thanks to Gemini’s advanced recognition capabilities.

New features include “What’s for Today?”, a gamified meal-planning tool, and Video to Recipe, which converts cooking videos into step-by-step instructions for users to follow in real time. FoodNote delivers weekly reports summarizing food intake patterns, most-used ingredients, and restock reminders.

Now Brief displays personalized widgets on the Family Hub screen and uses Voice ID to distinguish between family members, showing content relevant to each person.

    SmartThings Hits 430 Million Users

Samsung announced that SmartThings reached more than 430 million users as of December 2025, up from 350 million in September 2024 an increase of 80 million users in 15 months. The scale gives Samsung a significant data advantage for refining AI-driven automation and recommendations.

The company launched a partnership with Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB) to offer insurance premium reductions for homes with SmartThings-connected appliances. After a successful U.S. pilot in 2025, the program expands to additional states and global insurance carriers in 2026.

    New Smart Appliances and Robots

Samsung introduced the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, an all-in-one washer-dryer with faster cycles and enhanced drying performance. The Bespoke AI AirDresser features Auto Wrinkle Care, using air and steam jets to smooth shirts without manual ironing.

The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra robot vacuum, powered by a Qualcomm Dragonwing processor, includes an Active Stereo 3D Sensor to detect and identify liquid spills, including transparent liquids like water. Its camera enables pet monitoring and suspicious activity alerts when users are away, while an updated Bixby allows conversational voice commands.

    Proactive Health Monitoring Vision

Samsung outlined plans for AI-driven preventative healthcare through its connected device ecosystem. The vision includes personalized health coaching, exercise and sleep optimization, and dietary suggestions based on ingredients in connected refrigerators.

Wearables will monitor for abnormal patterns and share metrics with healthcare providers via the Xealth platform for virtual consultations. Samsung is also researching dementia detection through wearable devices that track subtle changes in mobility, speech, and engagement.

All data is secured through Samsung Knox and Knox Matrix, which now includes AI-specific protections such as red team analysis and safeguards for AI training processes.

    What’s Next

Samsung’s exhibition zone at CES 2026 runs through January 7 in Las Vegas. The 2026 TV lineup with Vision AI Companion is expected to ship globally starting Q1 2026, though regional availability varies by model.

No pricing was announced for the 130-inch Micro RGB TV or specific ship dates for the Family Hub with Google Gemini integration. Samsung has not confirmed whether the proactive healthcare features will launch as standalone services or require specific device bundles.
