AdwaitX Corrections Policy

At AdwaitX, accuracy comes first. If we make a mistake, we correct it quickly, explain what changed, and keep the record clear for readers. Transparency is key to maintaining your trust.

What This Covers

  • News stories, reviews, how-tos, comparisons, opinion columns
  • Data tables, charts, infographics
  • Photos, videos, captions
  • Social posts, newsletters, push alerts

Types of Changes

  • Correction: Fixing a factual error. We label it “Correction,” state what was wrong, and provide the correct info.
  • Clarification: The facts were correct but wording wasn’t clear. We improve it and explain what changed.
  • Update: Adding new information after publication, marked with a timestamped “Update.”
  • Editor’s Note: For significant or sensitive changes, we add a note at the top or bottom of the story.
  • Retraction: In rare cases where a story is unreliable, we remove it and publish a retraction note with reasons.

How We Display Changes

  • Minor typos that don’t affect meaning may be fixed silently.
  • Anything affecting meaning, reputation, safety, money, or public understanding gets a visible note.
  • Change notes are timestamped and added at the end of the story. If a headline or key claim changes, we also note it at the top.
  • For captions, charts, and images: corrections are explained directly under the asset.
  • For social posts and newsletters: if an error was shared, we correct it on the same channel.

Our Review Process

  1. Triage: An editor reviews and logs the request.
  2. Verification: Another editor or reporter checks facts, documents, and data.
  3. Decision: If an error is confirmed, we correct it and add a note. If facts are disputed, we clarify or update.
  4. Response: We acknowledge all requests and follow up if needed.

Timing

  • Material errors: Corrected as soon as verified.
  • Minor fixes: Usually within one business day.
  • Complex cases: Legal, privacy, or safety issues may take longer.

Special Cases

  • Quotes: Misquotes are corrected; accurate quotes are not changed for style.
  • Data & charts: Visuals are corrected, with a note explaining the change.
  • Reviews: Incorrect specs, prices, or test results are fixed, and verdicts updated with a note.
  • Children, safety, legal claims: Escalated to senior editors.
  • AI-assisted content: Corrected like any other story, with added context if needed.

Our Commitment

We value accuracy and accountability. If you notice something that doesn’t look right, please let us know—your feedback helps us do better.
